Guidelines For Videos

Categories

Video abstracts are accepted in any of the following specialties

  1. Diagnostic
  2. Management

 General Guidelines

  1. Each PRESENTING AUTHOR can submit one video in each category which will be selected based on the evaluation scores.
  2. Abstracts are to be submitted online only. No abstracts shall be accepted as a email, Fax, Hard copies etc.
  3. Not more than 3 co-authors are allowed in video abstract submission.
  4. One of the authors should be Members of the GSI.
  5. Video duration is 8 minutes only.
  6. Only presenting / chief author (If presenting author is not a GSI Member), who is ratified GSI member, will be entitled to get the award.
  7. No change in presenting author is allowed during video presentation.
  8. Institution/ hospital affiliation and doctor’s name in the title or abstract or full video should not be mentioned and will lead to automatic rejection.
  9. Title of the video should not exceed 100 CHARACTERS INCLUDING SPACE
  10. Synopsis cannot exceed 1000 CHARACTERS INCLUDING SPACE
  11. The abstract submission closes on 15th June, 2023.
  12. The full video has to be submitted latest by 31st July, 2023.
  13. The videos can be sent to the GSI office in the following ways:
  • You can send it online through www.dropbox.com / www.wetransfer.com / www.drive.google.com. Ensure that you share the file to office@glaucomasociety.in  mentioning your VT number and title of the video.
  • You can copy the video in a pen drive and courier/speed post it to the GSI office address given at the website You will receive a receipt of acknowledgment by an email in three working days from the date of receipt of the video.
    If the video doesn’t reach the above address on or before the given date, then your VT submission shall not be considered for evaluation for the annual conference.

#Declaration to be provided:

The following points have to be declared while submitting the abstract while

  1. Whether the research has been carried out in India. Was this research carried out in India.
  2. Was this submission been presented in any other conference earlier.
  3. Would this submission be presented in any other conferences prior to the upcoming annual conference of GSI.
  4. Has this submission won any National / International Award.
  5. Was this submission published or submitted for publication in any peer reviewed journal.
  6. Does this paper pertain to Laboratory research ( Translational research )

#Clarification on declaration

1. Research carried out outside India will not be eligible for award.
2 & 3. Any video already presented in any other conference can be presented in GSI Conference.
4. Any video which has already won an award in any other conference (National / International) can be presented in GSI conference but will not be eligible for award.
5. If  the video has been published in any peer reviewed journal / video journal, then it can still be presented but will not be eligible for award.

How many authors a video can have?

  1. A video can have one presenting author and upto 3 co-authors (4 authors in total).
  2. One of the above 4 authors shall be the presenting author of the video.

Evaluation

  1. Each abstract received by GSI office shall be evaluated
  2. The accepted abstract shall be informed to the author who will need to submit the full video latest by 31st July, 2023.
  3. Each video shall be evaluated by same set of 3 evaluators.
  4. The best adjudged 5 videos each category will contest for the Awards and will judged by 3 set of judges during the conference.
  5. The award will be given to the video with the highest score in each category, to the presenting/ chief author only who should be ratified member of GSI.
  6. Of the remaining videos, the ones which are considered to be of good quality will be selected to be displayed in the video kiosks.

Important note

No videos will be returned. Hence keep a copy for your record and send. Do not send the original.
